Steven Hooper

Assistant General Manager

Steven is a true and proud Annapolitan. He was both born and raised in Annapolis MD. His passion for soccer led him to a career within the soccer industry. He grew up playing the beautiful game right here at home with his fist team at Annapolis soccer club, he then outgrew recreational soccer and took his career to Freestate soccer where he played at a region wide travel level, he then transition to the first ever MD Rush Annapolis travel team, and then continued his career by playing varsity soccer at Annapolis High school.
Steven attended the University of South Carolina where he obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Sport and Entertainment Management in 2021. He graduated college in three short years, one year earlier than expected. Steven was eager to get into the job force and start building his professional career, so he figured out how to graduate earlier so he could pursue this next adventure in his life!

During his college career, he was granted an internship at the United States Naval Academy Athletic Association where he served as an intern for the Navy Sports Summer camps. Steven did this role for 3 years. Throughout his time at NAAA, he was able to form extremely strong connections within the collegiate sports world. He shared many long summer days with some of the most prestigious college coaches in the country! In this role, is where his passion for the sports industry really took off. While in the Sports Management program, Steven was also chosen to represent the University of South Carolina at the world-renowned Masters Golf Tournament in Augusta GA in 2019. He was hand chosen in an application pool of over 2,000 UofSC students. He received insight of what putting on a spectacular event takes and how to make an experience that fans will always remember!  Steven was also the Adventure Trip Manager for the Outdoor Recreation program at UofSC. In this role, he was able to explore the outdoor rec field and gain experience in management and trip leading. He was responsible for the implementation of day hikes, weekend trips as well as overnight backpacking trips. He managed a dynamic and well-versed team of college students who shared like-minded interests in the outdoor world! He worked this role for two years until he no longer attended the University. Upon graduation, Steven took a job in youth soccer to further his experience and enter the coaching world. He worked as an Operations Coordinator where he served over 15,000 youth soccer players within the DC, MD, and VA area! During this position, he was able to understand and experience what it is like to work the behind-the-scenes business end of the soccer industry. After a year in this role, he took a lateral promotion and entered into a new role as a Coaching Coordinator. In this new position, he was responsible for the scheduling, training, and staffing of over 35 full/part time coaches. He coached 2–8-year-old beginner soccer for a year and a half before taking the leap into the next chapter of his professional career.

Steven is excited to work with a team that has such a strong tie to the community he grew up in. He is also extremely excited to be able to provide an opportunity to soccer players throughout the area a chance to take that next step into their careers as well! The Annapolis Blues FC is just what this town needs! Steven is eager to hit the ground running and proud to be a part of something that could and will be the next big thing to hit Annapolis MD.
